The further
from the Throne,
the closer to the Tomb.
Deny Glory, and with you
Humility nods its approval.
Reject the Sovereign, and find
the Servant waiting at your table.
Stand still? Your breath betrays you.
Turn away? But in this very act
He is the axis of your revolving,
the principle of all motion.
Even to Hell He descends
— or can it be Hell
if He is there?
