Sarah, Do Not Be Surprised  Joshua Alan Sturgill

Flowers in the sea
Scales in the sky
Silence within sentences
Darkness in the eye

Music in an instrument
Long left out of tune
Beauty in the burgundy
Flowing from a wound

Tender-hearted soldier
Envy-haunted child
Each pilgrim seeks enclosure
A cage-bound bird is wild

This illness may innoculate
To mend, you might be torn
Birth begins a slow decay
But dying, you are born
