The Iron Bridge Joshua Alan Sturgill

What is wealth
and what are goods
and what is learning for?
Would you give your children wings
          but never skies to soar?

Not in power
not in skill
not in knowing truth from lies.
A man is worthy only when
          he makes his children wise

I built a ship
to send my son
across this violent sea.
He built a bridge above the waves
          where he will carry me
