The two kinds of compass
are all you need to prepare yourself

for your encounter with God.  1.) Two
arms connected by a movable joint

for constructing circles.  2.) A magnet
balanced on the point of a needle

for finding East.  Two compasses
prepare the two essentials:

boundary and orientation.
There are more elaborate tools, 

but compasses are the right
beginning.  After all, Heaven  

does not demand perfection, but 
patience.  Not success, only courage
