As The Day Had Just Begun / Benjamin Rozonoyer
As the day had just begun,
above the earth, beneath the sun,
between the mountains plodding fast,
a hermit passed.
His cloak was old, his shoes were torn,
all in a landscape quite forlorn;
amid the towering walls of stone
he walked alone.
Where did he go?
I do not know:
over the ridge, beyond the cloud,
where rivers among the rocks run loud.
