Homeric Musings / Benjamin Rozonoyer
Homer.
It looks like the day
is about to die.
When the sunlight goes,
so must I.
Muse.
Troy has been burned,
Hector killed,
Priam consoled.
What more do you will,
troubled soul?
Homer.
I want the sea
to talk to me.
Muse.
The wave falls
onto the evening shore.
Not much else.
Homer.
I have to hear more.
Muse.
There have been heroes here,
and many boats in the bay.
Homer.
Ah, there was so much cheer,
all the cups were filled!
I remember the heroes pray.
Muse.
They lie in Troy;
Troy has been burned,
Hector killed.
