Untitled (The tale gets told upstairs) / Benjamin Rozonoyer
The tale gets told upstairs,
where the standing horses sleep:
one can see the well is deep
when the muddy water clears.
A word which one lets go,
as a pebble, dropped, forms rings,
and sinks, and speaks below
of world-without-end things.
While upstairs, the horses snort,
and, swatting tails, they wake
from an egret of some sort
in the fog upon the lake.
