And I am reminded of the title Slightly Foxed But Still Desirable: Ronald Searle’s Wicked World of Book Collecting (1989), though I have not yet caught up with the book itself. And then there is the resonance of the fascinating discussion of the term ‘used’ – etymologically correct? less respectful to books than ‘second-hand’? and so on.
